Nothing in the fridge, turned into a remarkably yummy dinner. Took the leftover salad home from work, realized while meandering around the garden I have some beets that are ready, then added some walnuts and dressing and YUM!
During garden meandinging, also spied a brightly colored, ripe peach. Double yum! It's way early and I realize that I didn't thin the multi-peach enough and I'm going to get hundreds of tiny peaches (ooops). I thinned a tiny bit more, but now the trick is to watch them closely so they don't all ripen like last year when we had too much going on to pick in time.
Last surprise is the wonky blossom on the elephant garlic. Doesn't it look like a cartoon?
