Seeds sewn

I finally cleared out 2 planter beds mostly - harvested and euthanized the plants from last season and the season before. One tomato plant from fall got the best of me - it has gorgeous fruits hanging on the vines that traveled behind the planter box on the left and up the hill. I staked some and will give it a few weeks for them to ripen before taking the skeleton of a plant down.
More about the future and less about the past. Two days ago I planted. In went two different varieties of beets, eggplant, and soy beans (for edamame) so as to see which grows best in my yard. Also some green beans, acorn squash, orangetti (another winter squash), butternut squash, watermelon, cantaloupe, and cucumbers. Sprouts due to break the surface in about a week if all goes well, which puts first harvest in 65 days at the earliest, but longer for most things.
