It started with a conscious decision to plant beet and carrot seeds and not thin them out. The self-made compost (which wasn't hot enough to kill the seeds) added innumerable "volunteer" tomato plants. Then somewhere along the line, I was completely distracted and now all of a sudden the tomatoes are falling into the path and taking over. They seem to be pinkish cherry tomatoes (from last year). The beets have been gradually pulled and consumed, the carrots need to be pulled and cooked soon (fingers crossed for interesting mutants).
