A six-pack of cantaloupe seedlings seemed too many, but turns out the yield is low so it might be just about right (or not enough?). I have 3 melons that are netting but don't smell sweet yet, so I've let them be for now. Then I spy about 5 that look kiwi size which is big enough to be viable - the trick now is just water the plants like crazy so they get as big as possible before they net. My totally non-scientific theory is that they net when it's hot and dry so I want to forestall that as long as possible and try to get some big ones.
