The family lineage

One of my favorite family traditions is when my dad makes sourdough pancakes for breakfast. He has sourdough starter yeast from years ago that he has kept going for more than 20 years. And some of his starter was passed on to me a few years ago, so I could continue the tradition. It sat dormant for a while, but this year I'm getting it going again. In the spirit of the holiday weekend, I made 2 batches of pancakes yesterday. There's something innately fun about making pancakes. And the sourdough gives such flavor that the pancakes are a great snack without bothering with syrup or any of that sticky mess.
