Welcoming...

A new apricot tree! Research led me to believe apricots don't fruit in SoCal but this one had about 50 fruitlets and was living at the garden shop about a mile from my house. So why not? It's was given a home in the front yard near where we'd tried a bare root almond tree and failed. I was mostly compliant and pulled off all but 5 of the apricots so the tree can spend it's energy on building roots this year. Fingers crossed we'll get fruit next year! Oh and for those keeping score at home, it's a Tropic Gold with a (purported) 350 hour chill requirement.
