Attempted gourmet

We ate some meals that were attempting to be fancy, but it didn't quite work out. I loved the goat cheese on the figs, but the honey lover would have preferred a stronger dose of sweetness. I made this again later on, with more honey and a very ripe, giant fig, but it didn't suit me as the honey flavor was too strong. There seems to be a balance, and I am resolutely on the goat cheese side of the equation.
Which brings us to the polenta and tomatoes, which was a grand idea, but the tomatoes were too sweet for this meal. I'm happy to eat them alone; there's nothing better than sweet summer tomatoes.
