Circle of life

This little mouse climbed to the top of the compost bin and started washing himself off after I unknowingly showered him (while trying to add humidity). He had no problem with me putting my phone 12 inches from him for the photo shoot. I thought about it, but didn't try to catch him. The recently shedded snake skin bits I found on the retaining wall a few feet away made me think that he probably wouldn't be living in or around my compost bin for too much longer.
